Hi, I’m Matthew Gallagher – bass player + songwriter with lots of experience playing bass guitar (and more recently electric upright bass and bass synth).
Live bass player
I enjoy live performance as part of a band (anything from bands with their own material, function bands performing jazz standards, pop and dance music, backing solo artists and singer-songwriters, through to contemporary worship music in a church setting).
Studio bass player
I’ve also played for a number of live recordings, worked in a traditional studio setting and, more recently, worked remotely with a singer / songwriter / producer recording bass parts for them at home and over the internet.
Collaborative songwriter
I’ve co-written a number of songs with my wife, Helen Gallagher, and others.
