Ancient wisdom for today (13)

August 13th 2012, Day 13, Proverbs 13

“Unrelenting disappointment leaves your heart sick, but a sudden good break can turn life around.” Proverbs 13:12 (The Message)

There are so many things we can be and do to bring hope into the lives of people around us. Rather than being overwhelmed by the bad-news stories around you (because very few of us are privileged with the means or opportunity to affect the world on a massive scale) why not see if you can make a real difference to a few folk around you?

Even if you don’t see an opportunity to make the kind of difference that the story of Pay It Forward tells so well then just see what acts of kindness and hope you can do today (and resolve to keeping looking for those ‘Pay It Forward’ moments).

Who knows what difference even a small gesture might make – bringing a ray of hope into a heart-sick life?

With years of experience playing bass in a wide range of situations a dear friend once said that if you were to cut me in half you'd find the word 'bass' written all the way through - yes I know that's so cliche - but that doesn't make it any less true! Like so many people I have more than one 'day' job - but most of my work-time these days is spent working for Interconnected Solutions.
